What You Need to Know About the UAE EVGP

What Is the EVGP?

Teams of students from around the world represent their schools to build the best battery-powered electric vehicles. Teams aim to cover the most ground efficiently and with endurance. Students gain practical experience in engineering and problem-solving through this event. The event is hosted annually by the non-profit organization Global EEE, automobile distributor ALnabooda Automobiles,  and the UAE-based consultancy 3elm Education and Training. Not only that, each year's tournament is given national coverage through major broadcasting companies such as, Aletihad and UAEnews

“Watch young minds electrify the world!”

How it starts

The teams construct single-person electric karts from conventional kits using basic engineering concepts, allowing for modification and creativity. They then race them in an efficiency challenge, using what they learned in class to solve practical issues. Students' teachers act as mentors giving the students indispensable support as well as emphasizing the importance of safety. However, the teams are not only judged based on their performace in the race, they are also evaluated based on a wide range of criteria ranging from Design to Outreach!

How Team Turbo Prepares

At ISC-DIP's very own Team Turbo, the preparation for each year's tournament begins as early as August! Students (with the help of a supervising teacher) take the initiative at every level of Team Turbo's preparation. The team unites to transform concepts into a fully functional electric race kart from testing to delivery. From the Operations and Programming teams to the Outreach and Design teams, students at Team Turbo specialize to fill specific tasks, this specialization turns Team Turbo into an unstoppable force!
